If you want to go far, go together.”

Camp Kesem is a free week-long overnight summer camp experience for children ages 6 to 18 who are impacted by a parent's cancer. It is led mostly by college students that care deeply about the mission of Kesem who are trained in leadership and give the campers someone to look up to. There are also nurses, mental health professionals, and other experienced staff that support the counselors. In 2019 they served nearly 10,000 campers across the country.

Here is the website for their local UNL chapter: https://www.kesem.org/chapters/nebraska

HCF Logo.png

The Heartland Cancer Foundation or HCF believes no cancer patient should fall behind on treatment because they struggle to afford daily expenses. Their mission is to provide practical and immediate financial assistance to eligible cancer patients in our community so they can focus on healing. They help cover things like housing, car payments, gas cards, and utilities. Even cancer patients with insurance can pay 20% to 40% of the cost of cancer treatments which can cost upwards of $10,000 a month. There's also an extra opportunity where someone can donate $100 directly to HCF and they will honor their loved one's memory or cancer journey on HCF's social media. They would just need to donate the $100 online (via the link below) and put the person's name and anything else they would like to share about them in the memo line.

One recipient is chosen for each production in the Lofte's regular season. The Lofte promotes the work of the organization to it's patrons, including adding the organization name to the program, and mentioning them on social media. Staff of the non-profit organizations also receive tickets to see the show during which they are honored. If you have an nonprofit organization that you think should be honored with the Together Project please send an email to office@lofte.org.
