The Lofte's nearly 50 years of quality entertainment has only been possible thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who have donated their time over the years. Join this wonderful legacy and volunteer during this production season!

Volunteer Guidelines & Expectations
Please follow the guidance of the Lofte board member or staff on duty.
Checklists are available for each role.

Everyone Prior to Show:
-
Arrive one hour before the show (90 minutes before for concession workers) and check in at the box office.
-
Please dress in nice, casual attire (no offensive t-shirts) and wear a provided tag. Wear your 2024 or 2025 volunteer t-shirt if you have one!
​
Door Greeter:
-
Hold the door for the patrons and welcome each one starting one hour before the show.
-
At the end of the show, hold door open and thank each patron.
-
Assist ushers as needed.
​
Ticket Scanner:
-
Open auditorium doors 45 minutes before the show begins (one hour for larger audiences).
-
Scan tickets with the provided Zebra scanner.
-
Close the doors at the start of the performance.
-
Be available for 10 minutes after the start of the performance to scan in any patrons that may arrive late.
-
Assist ushers as needed.

Ushers:
-
Assist the patrons in finding seats.
-
Be a general resource to patrons and address any of their questions or concerns.
-
Close shutters 5 minutes before show time.
-
In case of emergency, direct patrons to nearest exit (fire) or shelter (tornado).
-
First Aid Kit is located in the ladies restroom behind the door. NOTIFY BOARD MEMBER OR STAFF.

Car Parker:
-
Canes for flagging are located in the umbrella holder outside office.
-
Please place orange cones to provide lanes for parking spaces.
-
Make sure all cars are facing the same direction for ease of exit.
​
Concession Workers/Meal Server:
-
Arrive 90 minutes before show start.
-
You will be assigned a role by the assistant concessions manager.
​
Everyone After Show Cleaning Duties:
-
Everyone is required to stay and help clean and sanitize when the show is done.
-
Checklists will be available for each part of the venue.
-
List of bathroom duties are located in each bathroom supply area.
-
If supplies are running low please inform Lofte staff.
-
Sweep under the seats to get all debris toward the center isle.
-
Use dustpans to pick up all debris swept from the floor instead of having the vacuum pick it up, this will help preserve the life of the vacuums and keep oil spots off of the carpet
-
Take out all trash and place new bags in the trash bins.
-
A member of the Lofte board or staff will make sure all checklists are complete before dismissing volunteers.
