In 1926 radium was a miracle cure and luminous watches were all the rage—until the girls who painted these watches began to fall mysteriously ill. Radium Girls is a gripping story inspired by real events, following Grace Fryer, a courageous dial painter, in her fight for justice against her former employer, Arthur Roeder, an idealistic man, who couldn't fathom that the miraculous element responsible for shrinking tumors might be linked to his employees' illnesses. Experience the wry, unflinching, tale of the American obsession with health, wealth, and the commercialization of science in Radium Girls.
